Any image, a colour print
Drop in a photo, poster, pixel art or album cover. Halftone works out how to build it from the filaments you own, then previews what will actually come off the bed.
Card Relief
An on-device depth model lifts the subject out of the card, so posters and portraits come out with real dimension instead of a flat lithophane.
Your filaments, your printer
Add the spools you actually own, any brand or material. Quality dots show how well each colour lands, and you can swap, lock or exclude any slot.
Export when you’re ready
STL files for every filament, a multi-material 3MF for your slicer, and step-by-step swap instructions for single-nozzle printers.
Halftone takes a flat image and works out how to print it in colour: which of your filaments to use, how to stack them so the light passing through makes the right shade, and where the printer needs to swap. The preview is a physically modelled view of the finished object, not an approximation — what you see is what comes off the bed.
It works with any FDM printer. Multi-material systems load a single 3MF and map each part to a slot; single-nozzle machines get the STLs plus a swap schedule telling you which filament to load at which height. Everything runs on your Mac and no image is ever uploaded.
